Together, we seek to promote the health and welfare of children through advocacy, collaboration, equity & inclusiveness and empowerment.
This statement is part of a shared mission the state and national PTAs ask us to adopt into our local unit. Another way we can focus on the health and welfare of children is by giving: our time (volunteering, listening, talking); our money (funding student or teacher-led initiatives, assisting with classroom and athletic needs); and occasionally, with food and compassion. Recently, we put out an ask on social media to provide support for a family – and you answered. We want to acknowledge the City and Blandford families that responded with homemade meals, take out and gift cards to another family in our community. Your kindness is appreciated.
Our October PTSA Member meeting is this Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 7pm via ZOOM. You can join from our website or use Zoom meeting ID 311 848 5660. Use password: i6f292.
Prior to the monthly membership meetings, we will send an email that includes minutes from the previous month’s meeting, a current agenda, a link you can use to ask questions to the Board, City Admin or special guests and any other pertinent information needed. Normally, you’ll get this email sooner than a few days beforehand, but sometimes I am slacker.
Aside from monthly meetings and related emails, there’s a few other ways and instances you’ll be hearing from us this year. Look for our announcement section in the City High-Lights that come from Mrs. Albin every Friday. You can follow us on social media (FB and Insta) and look for our posts in the CityVillage. We also post communications (like this one) on our website.
Right now, we are seeking volunteers for two events in November. Check out the sign-up sheets here (thank you).
We don’t want this to be a one-sided conversation, though. We’d like to hear from you, too. So feel free to join us at a meeting, ask questions or make comments on our social media, reach out to us by email or by using the contact form on our website, leave a note in our mailbox at school or say hi to us at an event! Since we’re parents, just like you, our kids pull us in many directions, so we get around (and most of us are pretty social).
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Hope to see you Wednesday evening!
