The GRPS communications office has submitted a response to the questions that were raised by the City community regarding the hybrid and virtual models. The New Frequently Asked Questions document lists each of City’s questions with district answers. In addition to receiving this information Friday morning, we have also urged GRPS to delay the commitment form deadline so families have time to consume the answers provided and the ones still to come, namely our specific plan for CHMS.

Currently, according to district communication, we have until October 19, at 11:59 PM, to make a final decision regarding hybrid/Inperson or virtual, but it is helpful for planning purposes that Administration have the information as soon as possible. There is a form that will be used internally at City to update final selections for hybrid/In-person or virtual. The link that was sent by the district on 10/9 is no longer valid. Changes that were submitted to that link while active were recorded, however, any family that still needs to make a change is asked to use this form.

We know that many families are already resolute in their decisions and do not wish to impede the new start date any further, merely the deadline to make the commitment for those families still weighing it out.

We know the district is finalizing details with the union on Saturday, so schools can’t release their schedules/plan until things are finalized. The school was hopeful to release information last Friday, but these negotiations are obviously taking longer than expected.
