This year, we’re taking advantage of the fact that City Conferences happen to fall on the night we planned to bring back the chili cook off – but couldn’t find a venue! Since we will be at school, things will be different this year; maybe even – unconventional. All chilis will be set up and served from 4 – 6 pm (while conferences are taking place) on the concourse near the gym.
This year, we are not charging a fee to enter the competition or selling tickets to taste. Just come and have some fun. Meet other parents between bites or between meets with teachers. We are going to try to raise some money to donate to the City Principal’s Fund, though – so that’s business as usual! We will be accepting donations online (between now and February 17) or at the event!
We will provide lemonade, utensils and tasting cups (look for some pro tips on our social media); the chili cooks will provide all the accoutrements to dress their chili so that you get the best bite. Then cast your ballot for your favorites in each of these categories: RED (tomato based), WHITE (broth based), VEGETARIAN (any base, no meat), STUDENT (any chili made by our scholars).
Be advised, food will not be prepared in commercial kitchens and is not meant to provide more than a taste.
