City’s Fall Theater Production

City High Middle will premier The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on December 18th at 7pm! The story follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world.” The siblings take over the annual Christmas pageant in a hilarious yet heartwarming tale involving the Three Wise Men, a ham, scared shepherds, and six rowdy kids. This virtual production is the only one being put on by a GRPS high school, and you can join the fun by purchasing the link for $10. What better way to kick off the holiday break than watching our students perform this holiday classic in a fresh, new way. The students are not only cast members, but are also helping with the technical side, creating art for the backdrops, and providing music between scenes. This is an incredible undertaking by our director Andrew Schneider and our own Kara Degenhardt. Check back here in December to learn how you can purchase the link and enjoy this heartwarming production this holiday season.

Important Info for Cast Members

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2020 City High Middle production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!

We are so thrilled that we have the opportunity to bring a production with music to life, despite the unusual circumstances of 2020!

As always, we are relying on the hard work of students AND parents to make it a success, so we hope you’ll help us as volunteer opportunities arise, including helping with costumes and inviting friends and families to purchase access to the event, which will be made available on Dec. 18

Last year we decided, based on parent feedback, to request each participant pay a fee up front, primarily to cover the cost of a t-shirt, meals and related costs. The fee this year has been cut to $10 because we won’t be serving meals or creating extensive sets. Scholarships are still available based on financial need. We are also offering other options as outlined below. If you can swing it, we hope you’ll consider a higher level of donation.

Here are the options.

  • $10 package, which covers the cost of a t-shirt

  • $20 package, which includes online access to the show and a t-shirt

  • $50 package, which includes a Shout Out, a donation to help the scholarship fund, online access to the show, and a t-shirt
